Is a look at this model town Poundbury, Poundbury is a model urban development in Dorset it’s a phenomenon in the history of British planning. The town its self was built on land owned by the Duchy of Cornwell and planed by Leon Krier own its conceptual designs to the principles set out in Prince Charles book A vision of BritainThe town is photographed wile it is empty witch makes these images feel unnerving and it isn’t reliant on the human presence for the drama it find it in the physical presence of the space itself

this project is devoted to the landscape and its relationship to london. the project trys to show the search for a new space in between tranforming the city into a strange space. these displaced areas or non places are showen in a state od ambiguity. the vewier see mountains or desert like landscapes but these places are man made. and abandoned to be left for nature to take over again.
Steffi Klenz nummainus
Klenz is interested in the critical exploration of displacement and the collapse of a sense of rootedness regarding the notion of place.Being shoot in Greater Manchester area, she discovered entire estates of empty terraced houses that have been boarded-up. These estates are beginning to wear what can be perceived as the scars of a national trend in the North-West regions of England. The exodus of residents has culminated in the value of the properties decreasing to a minimal amount, now worth a fraction of their purchase price. Unable to sell their homes, some inhabitants are forced to remain in this area – a community’s remnants subjected to a downward spiral of social exclusion.

Micheal Wolf
Wolf makes a overcrowded city appear almost abandoned, and this is what seems to set him apart from other photographer who have already look at this like Gursky who try and overwhelm us with the number of people in the crowd sceneWith out refance to the context of the sky or ground and many of the buildings seems to be in a stait of repire or construstion these elements become a fasernating part of the images
When looking closer at the images this public space become very privet spaces and the large patches of color give way to the smaller pieces of the people lives

With this project I really want to look at my technical skills and to use the best quality film I can either 10,8 black and white or 5,4 transparency. For the project I want to lead off from the work I have been doing for the Vermeer project. I would like to create a feel of tension with in the image and to have it taken at the peak of the moment so it becomes possible to make you own stories about the subjects like some of Gregory Credson work and Erwin Olaf with his misery series.
Then the other route I been thinking about and again it lead off the last project is to use a very deadpan effect like the New Topographic who I am looking at in my dissertation and the work of Gursky and to look at patterns with in the city looking at tower blocs and how in such a impersonal area you have all these families putting their own stamp on each flat. Then looking at the suburbs and the patterns and the uniformity.
Above is the propsel i handed in i dont think by any means saying what im doing, i think its a starting point and i think im going to have to do alot more work before i have worked out what i want to look at. i do think i will conture with the landscapes i just need to do more reasurch till i can work out my statement and leave the first idea mainly because i would like this to feed from my disertation work
